Littler lateral band tenodesis for swan neck deformity

0 - 5 days:

The PIP joint is pinned or immobilized in flexion within a postoperative dressing.

5 days:

The postoperative dressing and pin are removed.

A Dorsal Blocking splint is applied to the PIP joint in 30 degrees of flexion.

Active and passive flexion exercises are active extension exercises are initiated within the Dorsal Blocking splint.

6 - 8 weeks:

The Dorsal Blocking is discontinued.

Full active extension exercises may be initiated.

Very gentle passive extension exercises to approximately 150 degrees of extension may be allowed as needed.
